Engineering Manager, Inference Team

As a critical part of its mission to help decision makers understand what we are doing on and to the Earth, Orbital Insight is building a platform for large scale analysis of geospatial data including satellite and drone imagery and global IOT data - with proprietary AI to analyze economic, social, and environmental trends at scale. The platform allows customers to ask and answer questions about the physical world -- much as a search engine answers questions about the virtual world. By making the Earth “searchable” our customers have been able to illuminate supply chains, track global commodities, conduct trade area analysis, monitor illegal deforestation, and further national security.

In order to support these capabilities and growing customer needs, we are launching a new Inference team in addition to our R&D team. The charter of the Inference team will be to develop, enhance, integrate, deploy, and continuously monitor computer vision and data science models to solve problems that are directly aligned with near-term customer needs and product priorities.

This will be a cross-functional team of computer vision scientists and data scientists focused on developing new CV and DS models, enhancing current models to continuously improve performance metrics, integrating these new models and enhancements, and deploying them into our GO platform. This team will also closely collaborate with the R&D team.

We are looking for a hands-on leader to build this team and be one of its founding members.
