Pre-sales Engineer

About the Role

  • This position will be US based and remote with the option to work out of our New York City, Washington DC, New York City or Palo Alto office locations. Currently, Orbital Insight is fully remote, but our offices remain open for employees who feel comfortable working in an office environment.
  • Reporting to the SVP, Global Revenue & Partnerships you lead technical pre-sales
  • discussions with our potential customers to drive wins for our team.
  • Responsibilities

  • Build rapport with our pipeline of customers, understanding their business needs and technical requirements.
  • Build and deliver technical presentations and demos highlighting the capabilities of the GO platform and our ability to answer our customer’s most complex questions
  • Create relationships with customers’ technical and management teams as a trusted advisor to their business on how GO can meet their unique business needs
  • Work with Sales Executives and Product to craft brief white papers describing the GO platform tailor to specific clients or market segments
  • Work with account executives to craft business development plans and execute a strategy to engage customers and prospects
  • Collaborate with internal teams across Product, Engineering, and Revenue to relay lessons learned and insights from your interactions with our prospects and clients
  • Respond to RFI’s, RFP’s, proposals on the product/solution components
  • Attain quarterly and annual sales and operational objectives assigned by management
  • Responsible for delivery of complex technical information to non-technical audiences with the ability to connect technical outputs to quantifiable business outcomes
  • Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience in remote sensing or GIS
  • Experience using GIS tools (i.e. QGIS, ArcGIS, etc)
  • Experience with python

  • Preferred:
  • 2+ years experience in a customer-facing role
  • Experience working with EO, IR, SAR satellite data
  • Experience with telemetry data
  • Previous experience and success with fulfilling recurring sales targets
