Many of our customers use our platform in large critical applications which require integration work and, in some cases, advances within the platform.

To support our more advanced and complex deployments, Orbital Insight is looking for an experienced Program Manager. In this role, you will be in charge of coordinating with internal stakeholders on priorities, scope, feasibility, and timelines for milestone deliveries, invoicing, and other contract deliverables for your assigned programs. She/he will serve as the primary program interface between the Orbital Insight and the Customer Sponsor, and will have access to the Contract Officer and Contract Officer’s Technical Representative to program status and to resolve any issues as they arise. The role requires high attention to detail and excellent performance to achieve program objectives, including delivering on project budgets, schedule, quality and customer requirements. As a Senior position, this role requires the candidate to lead the development and implementation of Program Management policies, procedures, and workflows in addition to the evaluation and onboarding of tools. Further this role will be responsible for mentoring entry-level Program Managers and serving as an advisor and mentor to the junior members of the team. The Senior Program Manager will make recommendations to the Leadership Team and Executive Staff on the strategic direction of the Program Management function as it evolves within the company. This opening is for a full time position and will report into the Program Management team under the Operations Organization. This position can be located in Washington D.C., NYC, Palo Alto CA, or be remote.

Responsibilities

  • Provides input and guidance on the annual, quarterly, and sprint goals of the Program Management team, assumes ownership of execution as needed for a portion of these goals
  • Responsible for managing the overall program execution and performance of projects 
  • Partners with solution engineers,, account managers, customer success, content, engineering, and product to scope workflows and procedures as it pertains to Program Management
  • Works with various stakeholders to scope and deliver to contract terms
  • Assists in the development of program management templates to achieve technical, schedule, cost and quality commitments, maintains these on their assigned programs 
  • Reviews stakeholder data and reporting, identifying gaps, actively sharing insights and making recommendations to ensure execution and on-time delivery
  • Works with high-level managers and internal stakeholders to orchestrate management and execution of deliverables. Utilizes “systems thinking” by understanding complex, technical deliveries, inherent and potential risks, coordination among disciplines, and where applicable, handling negotiation of tradeoffs with professional maturity
  • Reports all issues or concerns that may impact schedule, performance, scope creep or cost, where applicable. Identifies risk areas and develops risk mitigation approaches
  • Participates in both external and internal program reviews and meetings
  • Leverages various systems and tools to plan, execute, and report on programs
  • Assists developing, building, and maintaining extensive  and consistent project documentation on processes, workflows, and communication standards.
  • Act as the “face of the company” to customers by coordinating and leading regular customer status updates and formal presentations as required
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to junior team members of the Program Management team
  • As the Program Management team grows, is willing to be a people manager junior Program Managers
  • Qualifications

  • At least 5+ years experience Program or Project Management for a SAAS company
  • Experience with one or more program management software tools (Asana, Monday, Microsoft Project, etc) 
  • Detail and results oriented, with demonstrated experience managing multiple complex tasks at once 
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, with experience running cross-organizational projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage trade-offs and evaluate plans with internal and external partners
  • High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • History of teamwork and willingness to dive into a task to get the job done
  • Ability to think strategically about how Program Management contributes to the overall strategy and success of Orbital Insight and give advice on best practices and initiatives to meet the goals of the business
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Able to perform duties independently
  • Able to manage time and priorities effectively to meet the deadlines
  • Desired Experience

  • Experience with the Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence) preferred
  • Experience working with USG customers with an emphasis on defense and intelligence
  • Current TS/SCI security clearance
  • PMP certification
