Description

Are you interested in helping build a high-growth tech startup? Orbital Insight, Inc. is currently seeking a Sales Representative/Associate to join our Japan Sales team. In this role, you will be expected to develop and execute an effective sales strategy and increase revenue through new and existing sales opportunities within the Japanese market. You will drive new solutions using Orbital Insight's ground-breaking technologies to solve large problems within this market.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be a problem solver, entrepreneurial, new revenue focused and you must have an understanding of consultative solution selling. You will be expected to draw on your keen sales abilities to tailor a pitch to each specific prospect you uncover, providing a consultative sales approach as you learn about the potential client, discuss specific solutions, and demonstrate our applications and solutions. You must be capable of working within a highly motivated team to drive the business forward as you will also work closely with the combined groups of Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Product Management, Development and Engineering to ensure consistency of execution. This position will be based in our Tokyo Office and will report to the General Manager of Japan.
Orbital Insight is turning millions of images into a big picture understanding of the world using computer vision, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing. We leverage the rapidly growing availability of satellite, UAV, and other geospatial data sources to understand socio-economic trends at global, regional, and hyper-local scales. Our customers range from hedge funds to Fortune 500 companies to humanitarian organizations, each benefitting from insights we provide at a depth and scale previously unimaginable. Orbital Insight supports a broad range of clients, from financial services to consumer packaged goods to real estate, which means that a prospective candidate should have the ability to quickly get up to speed on a client’s vertical and be comfortable contact switching across multiple verticals.

Resposibilities

  • Develop a sales strategy and increase revenue through new and existing sales opportunities
  • Drive data sales to mid and large firms across multiple commercial verticals (this role may include some support to the government vertical)
  • If applicable, develop, negotiate, and maintain strategic partnerships, alliances, and relationships
  • Qualifications

  • Fluency in Japanese
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or Marketing desired
  • 5+ years of progressive sales experience in Japan
  • Expertise in consultative selling and problem solving
  • Knowledge of enterprise and business-to-business sales
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent prospecting and networking skills
  • Experience with Statistics and Analysis not a priority but highly regarded
