Orbital Insight’s mission is to understand what is happening on and to the Earth and to make that information available to decision makers around the world. We do that by building a multi-tenant SAAS platform that takes in dozens of geospatial data sources, including satellite and drone imagery, anonymous cell phone pings, ship location data, and many more, and then applying state-of-the art AI and Data Science algorithms at scales that would require years to decades of human labor.
We are looking for a resourceful, collaborative, and dedicated Technical Recruiter to help grow our rapidly expanding team. You will be a part of a small people operations team tasked with partnering directly with hiring managers to understand their business needs and hiring requirements, facilitate full lifecycle recruitment activities, and ultimately hire diverse candidates to build the dream team to accomplish our mission together. You will build a pipeline of potential candidates for Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Software Engineering roles etc. You will work as a talent advisor and key partner to the functional business leaders and hiring managers, developing strategies to approach, engage, and hire the best talent in the world.


  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify and formalize needs, determine sourcing strategies and articulate OI’s value proposition and story to candidates
  • Create robust pipelines through active sourcing from multiple channels, screening resumes, interviewing, and closing candidates
  • Review, pre-screen and interview candidates to determine appropriateness of skills, experience, and knowledge in relation to position requirements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the full recruiting cycle (i.e. communicate status, answer questions and coordinate all follow-up efforts)
  • Provide an outstanding candidate experience, from initial introduction to the final stage of the application process
  • Ensure consistent communication regarding recruiting efforts by providing status updates to all stakeholders through meetings, email updates, and reports
  • Successfully deliver on all deadlines and flawlessly execute in a fast-paced, startup environment
  • Qualifications

  • 7+ years of successful recruiting experience in a fast-paced environment on software engineering or technically niche roles.
  • Experience recruiting for Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Core Software Engineering roles
  • Experience in full lifecycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, negotiations/closing, and candidate relationship management
  • Sharp interview skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to screen candidates for technical abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, integrity, and personal accountability and able to handle confidential information discreetly
  • Direct sourcing experience with a demonstrated ability to build a pipeline of qualified candidates for a variety of positions at different levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of technical jargon and skill sets, as well as an understanding of how software is built and maintained
  • Great selling and closing skills
  • Obsessive about candidate experience - You are self-aware, well-spoken on the phone and eloquent in emails. You're respectful of the candidate and the stressful process a job search can be
  • Start-up experience with a love for recruiting in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledgeable with Application Tracking Systems, Lever a strong plus
