Are you interested in helping build a high-growth tech startup? Orbital Insight is currently seeking a Client Success Manager to join our Customer Success team based in Tokyo. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a best-in-class onboarding experience, managing the company’s client relationships and providing tier-1 support of our product suite. Additionally, you will support the sales team throughout the sales process and coordinate product releases, communicating changes both externally and internally. In this role, you will be expected to educate, support and seek out feedback from clients with the aim of enhancing Orbital Insight product development and sales cycles. To succeed in this role you will need to be entrepreneurial and client focused with a background in data analysis. This role will report to the Japan and Asia Pacific (JAPAC) Technical Account Manager.

Orbital Insight is turning millions of images into a big picture understanding of the world using computer vision, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing. We leverage the rapidly growing availability of satellite, UAV, and other geospatial data sources to understand socio-economic trends at global, regional, and hyper-local scales. Our customers range from hedge funds to Fortune 500 companies to humanitarian organizations, each benefitting from insights we provide at a depth and scale previously unimaginable. Customer Success is a fast-paced job that requires our team to rapidly respond to client requests in order to build, evaluate, and ultimately sell new data sets that solve client problems. Orbital Insight supports a broad range of clients, from financial services to consumer packaged goods to real estate, which means that a prospective candidate should have the ability to quickly get up to speed on a client’s vertical and be comfortable contact switching across multiple verticals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide best-in-class support and assistance to clients, helping them get the most out of our products
  • Establish and foster meaningful relationships with Orbital’s client base by exhibiting reliability, a high degree of aptitude and a positive attitude
  • Engage clients to discuss our data solutions, distill their needs and drive the feedback discovery process to contribute to product development
  • Leverage deep understanding of both our data and how it is often consumed to educate our clients on how they can best deploy our data to fit their needs
  • Mine our data for value by creating and publishing “insights” and other research-like analyses
  • Quantitative sales support for client upselling
  • Onboard new users to our platform, leading training and Q&A sessions
  • Communicate product enhancements, white papers, research articles, etc. with clients, prospects and sales team
  • Serve as a technical resource and escalation point for the sales team throughout the sales process
  • Gather feedback from clients and prospects and communicate with product and executive teams on a periodic basis
  • Support Partners/Resellers with training and technical support
  • Qualifications

  • Fluency in Japanese
  • Bachelor’s degree (Bachelor’s degree in STEM or data-heavy discipline such as economics, statistics, etc. encouraged)
  • 5+ years of experience working in relevant fields
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Professional experience drawing conclusions from data to aid decision making or consuming data in a commercial setting
  • Strong research and data analysis skills, meticulousness and attention to detail are required
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and projects across multiple clients simultaneously
  • Effective communication and relationship building skills
  • Interest in and understanding of financial and other related markets
  • Experience with technologies/tools a plus - namely Python, SQL, excel, R, or other data-analysis software
